Gronau is located in the western part of the Münsterland region, right on the Dutch border. Within the border triangle of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and the Netherlands, you find the artifical lake "Dreiländersee" which was constructed in the 1970s. The path surrounding the lake is 3.3 kilometres in length and is ideal for jogging and walking.
